New Component Firm Forms in Westfield

Westfield, Ind. -- The official formation of D L Hudson Group, Inc. was publicly announced today. According to company founder and President David L. Hudson, the company will provide component sourcing and consulting services to the automotive, heavy-duty truck, appliance, HVAC, controls, and other specialized markets.

According to Hudson, the new company’s business mission is twofold: “Our charter is to provide North American manufacturers in our target markets with more than the traditional sourcing of cost-effective components and services. We can do that, certainly, but we can also provide consulting advice to small and mid-size companies that might be unfamiliar with the intricacies of doing business in Mexico and Asia. This can range all the way from sourcing components and services up to and including the establishment of manufacturing and engineering facilities in those venues.”

On the sourcing side of the business, the company currently provides both North American and Asian sourcing of custom-designed components and assemblies, precision machining and injection molding services, and engineering plastics through a series of strategic partnerships with companies in the U.S. and China.

Hudson brings more than 25 years of automotive industry experience to the start-up, having served in marketing management positions with General Motors’ Delco Products Division (now Delphi) and senior management positions at Emerson Electric Co. Prior to forming his current company, Hudson served as Vice President of the Automotive Business Unit of St. Louis-based Emerson. In a 20-year career with Emerson, Hudson was responsible for all operations of Emerson’s Mallory Controls Global Automotive Business Unit in the U.S., Mexico, and Asia. He oversaw the establishment of Emerson’s Automotive Design Engineering Center in Shenzhen, China and its automotive manufacturing facilities in both China and Mexico. Hudson holds a degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
