Indiana Steel Plant to Double Production

ArcelorMittal (NYSE: MT) and Japan-based Nippon Steel Corporation announced today the global steel giants will expand their I/N Kote joint venture here, doubling its galvanized steel production and creating 100 new jobs by 2010.

The companies will invest more than $240 million to build and equip a 240,000-square-foot facility at the existing I/N Kote center in the North Central Indiana town to house a new continuous galvanizing line that will have an annual capacity of 480,000 tons.

"It's yet another big win for the Indiana economy, one with special excitement because it involves one of our longstanding leading corporate citizens. As we're seeing happen time and time again, companies like ArcelorMittal are choosing Indiana over many other states to do business because of our competitive tax climate, high-quality workforce and unmatched infrastructure," said Governor Mitch Daniels.

I/N Kote, which currently produces around 450,000 tons of galvanized and galvannealed steel annually at the site, will supply the new continuous galvanizing line with cold-rolled coils from ArcelorMittal's Indiana Harbor and Burns Harbor operations as well as ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel's operation in New Carlisle.

The companies, which plan to break ground on the project later this year, currently employ more than 200 in New Carlisle and plan to begin hiring operations and maintenance associates in late 2008 ahead of the new facility's planned opening in 2010

"This is a great day for I/N Kote, our employees, the city of New Carlisle and the state of Indiana," said Chris Richards, general manager of I/N Kote and its sister facility, I/N Tek in New Carlisle. "This is an exciting opportunity for all of our stakeholders as it allows us to further meet customer demand while bringing new jobs to our community and we thank our partners at the state and local levels for their essential support."

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered I/N Kote up to $4.8 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. St. Joseph County will provide property tax abatement.

I/N Kote's expansion in New Carlisle is expected to preserve 400 jobs at ArcelorMittal operations in East Chicago and Burns Harbor and follows less than a year after Daniels met with Arcelor Mittal founder and chief executive Lakshmi N. Mittal in London as part of the governor's European trade mission.

Founded in 1991, I/N Kote is a 50-50 joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel. The facility currently produces 450,000 tons (500,000 short tons) of hot-dip galvanized and galvannealed sheet and 360,000 tons (400,000 short tons) of electrogalvanized sheet annually.

Carmel Company Announces Expansion

Dormir LLC, the parent of sleep center development and management company MD Sleep and durable medical equipment provider CardioSom, announced today it will expand its corporate headquarters here, creating more than 160 new jobs.

The privately held company, which currently develops and manages physician and hospital-owned sleep disorder centers and durable medical equipment retail locations in 14 states, will invest more than $2.5 million to expand its Central Indiana headquarters and upgrade its computer hardware and software.

"Dormir joins a growing list of companies like Arcadia Healthcare, Really Cool Foods and Berry Plastics that have decided to grow their global headquarters in Indiana. Headquarters locations bring high-paying jobs and community commitment, and are good news for our economy," Governor Mitch Daniels said.

The three-year-old company currently operates facilities in Greenwood, Indianapolis, Noblesville, Kokomo and Ft. Wayne and is in the process of opening centers in Anderson, Marion, and South Bend. The company, which currently employs 47 professionals at its Carmel headquarters and more than 150 employees nationwide, will begin hiring professional managers, information technology specialists, billing technicians, sales and marketing representatives, human resources professionals and accountants yet this quarter.

"Indianapolis and Carmel represent the ideal location for our corporate headquarters," said Tim Miller, chief executive officer of Dormir LLC. "The geographic location, airport expansion, affordable housing costs and quality of life make central Indiana very appealing to our workforce."

The company's subsidiary, MD Sleep, provides physicians and hospitals with a turnkey solution to the design, development, construction, furnishing, staffing and ongoing management of their sleep centers. CardioSom focuses on treating patients with sleep apnea and provides patients with respiratory equipment including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure devices and Oxygen resulting in some of the highest compliance rates by patients in the country.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Dormir LLC up to $1.25 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The City of Carmel will consider property tax abatement for the expansion.

"I am extremely pleased that Dormir has decided to expand its headquarters in Carmel," said Mayor Jim Brainard. "The City is attracting more and more health services and facilities, making Carmel an ideal location for this company focused on medical technology."

The announcement of Dormir's expansion in Carmel continues Indiana's growth in the life sciences. In March, Medco Health Solutions (NYSE: MHS) broke ground on the world's largest automated pharmacy in nearby Whitestown and announced plans to locate a new research and development center at its new facility. In February, biopharmaceutical manufacturer Cook Pharmica announced plans to add new filling and finishing lines to its South Central Indiana pharmaceutical development and manufacturing center in Bloomington, an addition that is expected to create more than 200 new jobs.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization and Battelle Memorial Institute identified Indiana as one of the nation's top four life sciences leaders as defined by number and concentration of life sciences-related jobs in 2006.

About Dormir, LLC
Dormir LLC is an Indiana limited liability company formed on January 18, 2005 in Carmel, Indiana with the purpose of providing the highest quality of patient care to those suffering from Sleep Disorders through its subsidiaries of MD Sleep, LLC and CardioSom, LLC.
Angie's List Receives $35 Million Investment

INDIANAPOLIS (April 10, 2008) - Angie’s List (www.angieslist.com ) the nation’s leading source for local service provider ratings has added Battery Ventures, one of the nation's oldest and most well respected venture capital firms, to its list of investors. Battery invested $35 million in exchange for a minority stake in the company. Angie's List will use the investment to continue its aggressive pattern of growth and service expansion.

“We’re very excited to be working so closely with Roger Lee and his partners at Battery," said Angie Hicks, founder of Angie's List. "They were helpful even before we finalized the deal, and we know we're going to enjoy working with them as we continue to grow our presence and the services we offer."

Recognized nationally as an Internet pioneer, Angie's List holds a unique position at the intersection of local search, user-generated content and subscription-based services. Further setting the company apart in the local ratings space is its data integrity process, which maximizes the accuracy and reliability of the information available on Angie's List. Angie's List does not allow anonymous postings, and service providers cannot add themselves to the List.

Currently serving more than 600,000 members in 124 major cities across the United States, Angie's List will celebrate its 13th year by opening service to any consumer in the country in the second quarter of 2008. Expansion to Toronto and London will follow. Last month, Angie's List began collecting ratings on the health care industry, including reports on doctors, facilities and insurers.

“Angie's List has really cracked the code on using the web to link consumers to reliable service providers, and has been delivering value to members since day one,” said Roger Lee, a general partner at Battery Ventures. “The team, their business model, their national reach and the integrity of the data they make available puts them far ahead of the pack. We’re thrilled to support them in this next phase of growth, and have every confidence the company will continue increasing the value it offers its growing membership.”

“We're happy to see additional support for this great company,” said Mathias Schilling, general partner at BV Capital. “We view it as validation, of sorts, of our strategic investment decisions, and we continue to expect great things from Angie's List.”

New Component Firm Forms in Westfield

Westfield, Ind. -- The official formation of D L Hudson Group, Inc. was publicly announced today. According to company founder and President David L. Hudson, the company will provide component sourcing and consulting services to the automotive, heavy-duty truck, appliance, HVAC, controls, and other specialized markets.

According to Hudson, the new company’s business mission is twofold: “Our charter is to provide North American manufacturers in our target markets with more than the traditional sourcing of cost-effective components and services. We can do that, certainly, but we can also provide consulting advice to small and mid-size companies that might be unfamiliar with the intricacies of doing business in Mexico and Asia. This can range all the way from sourcing components and services up to and including the establishment of manufacturing and engineering facilities in those venues.”

On the sourcing side of the business, the company currently provides both North American and Asian sourcing of custom-designed components and assemblies, precision machining and injection molding services, and engineering plastics through a series of strategic partnerships with companies in the U.S. and China.

Hudson brings more than 25 years of automotive industry experience to the start-up, having served in marketing management positions with General Motors’ Delco Products Division (now Delphi) and senior management positions at Emerson Electric Co. Prior to forming his current company, Hudson served as Vice President of the Automotive Business Unit of St. Louis-based Emerson. In a 20-year career with Emerson, Hudson was responsible for all operations of Emerson’s Mallory Controls Global Automotive Business Unit in the U.S., Mexico, and Asia. He oversaw the establishment of Emerson’s Automotive Design Engineering Center in Shenzhen, China and its automotive manufacturing facilities in both China and Mexico. Hudson holds a degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
